What is Paint Protection Film (PPF) and How Does It Work?

A shield made of TPU

Paint Protection Film is a transparent urethane film applied directly over your car’s painted panels. Modern premium films are made from thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) — a flexible, durable polymer that stretches around curves and absorbs impact energy.

Unlike older PVC films, TPU does not yellow, crack or shrink under heat. It stays soft and pliable for years, which is exactly what a protective layer on a car in Dhaka needs.

Optical clarity

A high-grade film is engineered to be practically invisible. Its clear top coat is formulated to match the depth and gloss of factory paint, so the car looks untouched — only better protected.

Self-healing technology

The top layer of premium PPF has an elastomeric polymer that ‘remembers’ its shape. Light scratches and swirl marks from washing disappear when the film is warmed — by the sun, warm water, or a heat gun.

Against stone chips from highway gravel and construction debris, the film’s thickness absorbs the impact that would otherwise chip through clear coat and paint.

Gloss, satin or matte?

Gloss PPF amplifies shine and keeps the factory look. Satin and matte films transform the finish — a gloss car can become stealth-matte while staying fully protected, and the change is completely reversible.

At MO’S Detailing we install films from authorised partners such as Teckwrap and KOMBAT.
